Hey, I'm Gina!
I am an award-winning recipe developer, food blogger, clothing designer, and photographer. I am also a cookbook author. My first book, Meals From the Mitten: Celebrating the Seasons in Michigan, was released on April 10, 2018. I was born and raised in Michigan. My grandparents were farmers, so I grew up eating farm to table...literally. I still live in Silver Lake when I'm not traveling. I am a resort business owner that owns a boat rental, an RV resort, and a beach shop.
I started a food blog called Boating, Boarding & Burgers in the summer of 2014 and it really took off. In the past five years, I have been on Good Morning America and I have also been featured by The TODAY Show Food Club, ABC The Chew, The Rachael Ray Show, and the NYCWFF. I still blog about Boating, Boarding & Burgers, but I have expanded my blogging to include food inspirations from the North, East, West, and South on my travels. It is now called "Nom News."
In just the last 6 years, I have done over 100 live on-air food segments all across the U.S. And in the past 6 months of 2020, I have been filming from home and my segments have aired on over 225 TV stations in over 40 states during the pandemic. I have been on Good Morning America in NYC, WZZM TV13, WoodTV8, and Fox 17 in Grand Rapids, The Four on 9&10 News in Traverse City, Daytime TV Show and WTSP Studio 10 Live in Tampa/Sarasota and WISH-TV IndyStyle in Indianapolis. Live TV is so much fun; it's an adrenaline rush. I am also a TODAY Show Food Contributor as well as a Jeep Talk Show Food and Travel Contributor.
Owning a beach shop and clothing store inspired me to create a line of water sportswear, aptly named Wet Head®. So, watch for some fashion, beauty and lifestyle blogs in the future. I have been teaching skin care and make up artistry for years. Graduating from the French Academy of Cosmetology, I love hair, skin, nails, and make-up!
In the summer, I stay busy with the businesses. However, in my off -time, I love to go Jeeping, snowmobiling, stand up paddle boarding and boating. We travel from September through April, so check out my social media channels and follow me as I blog about food, travel, adventure, and lifestyle.
